SYDNEY, Jan 13 AAP - The tragic story of an asbestos poisoning victim who died today
focuses attention on a serious limitation in the law under which people are able to sue
for compensation for pain and suffering, the Herald Sun said today.
It said 40-year-old Kerry Ann Halleur, a mother of two young children, developed the
killer disease mesothelioma after exposure to asbestos dust while working as a clerk in
a federal government office in Melbourne.
Mrs Halleur died yesterday afternoon. Under the law as it stands, had she died …
