Crime assets to be used to lock up criminals: Costa

Money and assets seized from New South Wales criminals will be used to hunt down more offenders.

State Police Minister MICHAEL COSTA says the government will draft new laws to putmoney and assets from crime into a special fund for the State Crime Command.

The government will also give the command an immediate cash injection of $1.2 million.

Mr COSTA says between $3 billion and $9 billion is laundered in Australia each year,with drugs and car rebirthing the main sources of funds.
